Big Firm Expertise. Small Firm Focus.
Meet Jake T. Howell.
You Get One Shot
When you've been fired or injured, you get one chance to get what you deserve.
But most people don’t get what they deserve. They get what their lawyer negotiates at the 11th hour after procrastinating trial preparation and hoping for a settlement. Most people find themselves at large, high-volume firms, handed off to support staff, and treated like just another case number.

I'm Jake T. Howell. I built my practice to ensure that when you call to talk about your case, your lawyer picks up the phone to discuss, not a paralegal or a case manager.

Why I Do This
I didn't grow up wealthy. I know how the system we live in can favor the rich and powerful, forcing hardworking people to do twice as much for a fraction of the benefit.

After graduating from the University of Southern California School of Law, I started my career at McDermott Will & Schulte, a major international law firm. I saw exactly how the "other side" operates. I learned their strategies and how they use their perceived firepower and false sense of authority to intimidate people.

At the end of the day, our legal system is the great equalizer. No matter what they try to throw at us, we are entitled to our day in court in front of a jury of our peers, not theirs. And in court, it's just your lawyer vs. theirs.

I was given a gift for this type of modern-day battle, and I built this practice on a simple principle: hardworking people deserve access to the best counsel money can buy. My passion is leveling the playing field by taking on the "big guys" and protecting hardworking people from some of the worst parts of our modern society.
Outside the Courtroom
When I'm not in the office or the courtroom, you can usually find me:
(1) at the best local gym in San Diego, Ocean Pacific Gym & Wellness;
(2) running through the hills of La Jolla with my rescue dog, Roxy; or
(3) refueling with my wife at one of San Diego’s many fantastic Italian Restaurants (our favorite is Enoteca Adriano).

My Promise to You
My job is more than just winning your case; it's taking the burden off your shoulders. When you hire me, you can trust that your case is being handled with the highest level of skill and attention.

Here’s what you can expect from me:
-
No "Legalese."
-
I will explain every step of your case in plain English. You will always know what's happening and why.
-
-
Total Transparency.
-
You will never be in the dark. I work for you, and you will have the final say on every important decision, including when and if you settle.
-
-
The Skill & Will to Prevail.
-
I give every case the attention it deserves, starting from day one. It is this philosophy that ensures my clients receive the best possible settlement offers.
